Afro-Venture Ghana Exchange Program.

Explore. Connect. Empower.

Embark on a seven-day or a fourteen-day journey during the Winter or Summer break through Ghana’s tourist sites and communities. This program blends cultural discovery with hands-on service, creating lasting connections and meaningful impact in the Ghanaian society. Below are proposed itineraries for both trip durations you choose. However, special arrangements can be made for groups interested in selecting their own sites, which can be provided at different periods aside from the regular ones.

A Seven-day Trip Itinerary at a Glance

Day 1: Accra City Welcome

Airport pickup, orientation, and evening welcome dinner.

Day 2: Historical Insights

Visit Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle; reflection session on heritage and resilience.

Day 3: Community Partnership

Travel to a village school; assist in curriculum workshops and resource distribution.

Day 4: Cultural Immersion

Participate in Kente weaving or drumming workshop led by artisans.

Day 5: Environmental Conservation

Join a forest restoration project and learn about sustainable land management.

Day 6: Visit to a Selected Traditional Leader, Market, and Homestay Experience

Guided visit to a selected traditional leader, a nearby market, followed by an optional overnight stay with a local family.

Day 7: Farewell & Reflections

Group debrief, impact sharing, and departure brunch before airport transfer.

A Fourteen-day Trip Itinerary at a Glance

Days 1–2: Accra Arrival & Orientation

Airport pickup, welcome ceremony, city tour, and storytelling session with local historians.

Days 3–4: Cape Coast Heritage

Guided visits to Cape Coast and Elmina Castles; dialogue on transatlantic history and resilience.

Day 5: Volta Region Immersion

Boat excursion on Lake Volta, cultural performance in Ho, and visit to artisan cooperatives.

Day 6: Akyem Pramkumah Remembrance

Travel to the hometown of William Ofori Atta (Paa Willie); attend a memorial gathering, engage with the community’s elders and the local youth on his legacy, and participate in a traditional welcome ceremony to honour him and some past elders of the village.

Days 7–9: Kumasi Cultural Exchange

Tour of Manhyia Palace, kente weaving workshop, and volunteer teaching at a Kumasi primary school.

Days 10–11: Northern Communities

Travel to Tamale and collaborate on water and sanitation projects in a rural village, and an optional homestay with local families.

Days 12–13: Environmental Conservation

Join mangrove restoration and agroforestry planting near Ada; learn sustainable land-management practices.

Day 14: Reflection & Departure

Group debrief, impact presentations, farewell brunch, and airport transfer.
